Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets about 6 oz each, skin on or off
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lemon sliced into thin rounds
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill or 1 tablespoon fresh dill
  • ½ teaspoon thyme
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Method

Step 1: Preheat the Oven
  1. Set your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
Step 2: Make the Garlic Herb Butter
  1. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, olive oil, minced garlic, parsley, dill, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
Step 3: Prepare the Salmon
  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place them on the lined baking sheet.
Step 4: Add Flavor
  1. Brush each salmon fillet generously with the garlic herb butter mixture. Place lemon slices on top of each piece.
Step 5: Bake the Salmon
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets. The salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork.
Step 6: Serve
  1. Remove from oven, let rest for 2 minutes, then serve with fresh lemon wedges and a sprinkle of herbs.

Notes

  • Don’t overcook the salmon. It should flake easily and still be moist in the center.
  • If using frozen salmon, thaw completely and pat dry before baking.
  • Add a drizzle of honey or sprinkle of smoked paprika before baking if you like extra flavor.
  • This recipe pairs perfectly with roasted veggies, rice, or mashed potatoes.
