Prep the Dates and Banana
- If your dates feel dry or stiff, soak them in warm water for 5 minutes, then drain. Skip this step if using soft Medjool dates.
- If using frozen banana, let it sit at room temperature for 2 minutes so the blender doesn't strain.
Blend the Smoothie
- Add almond milk, dates, banana, almonds (or almond butter), cinnamon, vanilla and salt to the blender.
- Blend on high for 45 to 60 seconds until completely smooth, with no date or almond bits visible.
- Add the ice cubes and blend again for 15 to 20 seconds until thick and frosty.
- Pour into glasses, dust with extra cinnamon if you like, and serve right away.

- Blend liquid and dates before adding ice for a smoother result
- Use a frozen banana for a thicker, milkshake-like texture
