Ingredients

  • 1 Frozen banana large, sliced; ripe with brown spots
  • 2 tbsp Lucuma powder
  • 1.5 cups Almond milk, unsweetened (360 ml)
  • 1 tbsp Almond butter raw preferred
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract pure, not imitation
  • 1 tbsp Maple syrup optional, to taste
  • 1 Sea salt small pinch
  • 4 Ice cubes to 5; optional if banana is frozen

Method

  1. Add almond milk and lucuma powder to the blender first. Blend 10 to 15 seconds until smooth with no clumps.
  2. Add the frozen banana, almond butter, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Blend on high for 30 to 45 seconds until thick and creamy, with no visible banana chunks.
  4. Taste and add maple syrup if you want it sweeter, then blend again for 5 seconds.
  5. Pour into glasses and top with cinnamon or sliced almonds if you like. Serve right away.

Notes

  • Use a ripe, spotty banana for maximum natural sweetness.
  • Skip ice if your banana is already frozen, or the smoothie turns too thin.
  • Store lucuma powder sealed and cool, it loses potency in a warm pantry.
  • Taste after blending and adjust vanilla or maple syrup before serving.
