Lemon Ginger Green Tea

A refreshing, healthy tea made with fresh ginger, lemon, green tea, and a touch of honey. Enjoy it hot to warm up or iced to cool off on a sunny day. Simple, soothing, and full of flavor.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 green tea bags or 2 teaspoons loose green tea
  • 1 –2 slices of fresh ginger about ½ inch thick
  • 1 fresh lemon
  • 1 –2 teaspoons honey adjust to taste
  • 2 cups water
Optional: Ice cubes for iced tea

Method
 

Boil the Water
  1. Bring 2 cups of fresh water to a gentle boil. Avoid overboiling.
Prepare Ginger
  1. Wash and slice fresh ginger into ½ inch pieces. Peel if you prefer a milder taste.
Brew Tea
  1. Place green tea bags or loose tea in a cup or teapot. Add ginger slices and pour the hot water over them. Steep for 3–5 minutes.
Add Lemon
  1. Squeeze juice from one fresh lemon into the tea. Adjust the amount to taste.
Sweeten with Honey
  1. Stir in 1–2 teaspoons honey, depending on how sweet you like it.
Optional: Make Iced Tea
  1. Let the tea cool slightly, then pour over ice. Garnish with extra lemon slices if desired.
Serve
  1. Enjoy hot or cold, and savor the fresh, zesty flavors.

Notes

  • Fresh ingredients make the biggest difference in flavor.
  • You can adjust ginger slices or lemon juice to suit your taste.
  • Honey is optional — maple syrup or agave can also be used.
  • Store iced tea in the fridge up to 24 hours.
  • Avoid oversteeping green tea to prevent bitterness.
