Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh spinach
  • 1 teaspoon barley grass powder
  • 1 banana preferably frozen
  • 1/2 cup mixed berries strawberries, blueberries, raspberries
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk or milk of choice
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup optional
  • Ice cubes optional, for extra chill

Method

  1. Add liquid first: Pour almond milk into your blender. This makes blending easier.
  2. Add greens: Toss in spinach and barley grass powder.
  3. Add fruit: Add banana and berries. Frozen fruit makes the smoothie creamier.
  4. Blend: Blend on high for 45–60 seconds until smooth. Stop and scrape the sides if needed.
  5. Sweeten if needed: Taste and add honey or maple syrup if you like it sweeter.
  6. Serve: Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.
  7. Optional: Prepare smoothie packs by freezing banana and berries together. In the morning, just add milk and barley grass powder.

Notes

  • Frozen banana makes the smoothie thicker and creamier.
  • You can swap almond milk for oat milk, coconut milk, or water.
  • Start with 1 teaspoon of barley grass powder to avoid a strong grassy taste.
  • Add extras like chia seeds, flax seeds, or almond butter for more nutrients and protein.
