Method
- Peel and roughly chop the carrots into 2 to 3 cm pieces so the blender can handle them easily.
- Juice the oranges and measure out 180 ml. Set aside.
- Add the chopped carrot, orange juice, frozen banana, ground turmeric, grated ginger, and black pepper to the blender.
- Pour in 120 ml of cold water or coconut water.
- Blend on high for 60 to 90 seconds until completely smooth and no visible carrot pieces remain.
- Check the consistency. If it's too thick, add water a tablespoon at a time and blend briefly.
- Taste and adjust by adding a squeeze more orange juice if the turmeric flavor is too sharp.
- Pour over ice if desired and serve immediately.
Notes
Add a tablespoon of ground flaxseed or chia seeds to boost fiber and omega-3s without changing the flavor. Blend them in with everything else.
