Ingredients

  • 1 large orange peeled and segmented
  • ½ grapefruit peeled and seeded (optional for extra tang)
  • ½ cup pineapple chunks fresh or frozen
  • 1 small banana
  • ½ cup coconut milk or almond milk
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • ½ teaspoon fresh ginger grated
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey optional
  • A few ice cubes optional for thickness

Method

  1. Prepare the fruit. Peel and segment the orange and grapefruit. Slice the banana and measure out the pineapple chunks.
  2. Add liquids first. Pour the coconut milk and orange juice into your blender. This helps everything blend smoothly.
  3. Add the fruits and ginger. Toss in the orange, grapefruit, pineapple, banana, and grated ginger.
  4. Add sweetness. Drizzle in maple syrup or honey if you want it sweeter.
  5. Blend. Start on low, then blend on high until smooth and creamy (about 30–45 seconds).
  6. Taste and adjust. Add more orange juice if it’s too thick or more banana if you want extra creaminess.
  7. Serve immediately. Pour into a chilled glass and top with a slice of orange or a sprig of mint for a fresh touch.

Notes

  • You can skip the grapefruit if you prefer a milder flavor.
  • Frozen pineapple makes the smoothie creamier and thicker—great for summer.
  • For an extra protein boost, add a scoop of vanilla protein powder.
  • Best served fresh, but can be refrigerated up to 24 hours in a sealed jar.
  • The fresh ginger gives a subtle warmth and balances the sweetness—don’t skip it unless you really need to.
